Verse 1:

Just like any story it was bound to end

Right back where we were when we were just friends

Walking past each other, like nothing ever happened

We thought we were better than every body else

Guess we weren’t as perfect as we told ourselves

Now the hands we hold are just the ones we’re dealt

Chorus 1:

And now when looking back

We just both fell way too fast

Should have known it wouldn’t last

But its ok

Cuz even though it all went south

And we’re going separate routes

At least we learned throughout

and now we can say

That at the end of the day now we know

Our hands weren’t meant to hold

Verse:

I haven’t been thinkin' straight since you’ve left

I’ve been thinking with my heart and not my head

Everything feels different when you’re alone instead

Bridge:

Oh I was wrong

But I don't know y it took me so long

To realize

and now that i’ve moved on

I can finally see past those brown eyes

And through the lies

Oh but I hope your doing well

Cuz I'm doing just fine

Chorus 2:

And now when looking back

Maybe I just fell too fast

But now it’s all in the past

And I'm ok

Cuz even though it all went south

And we’re going separate routes

At least I learned throughout

And now I can say

That at the end of the day now I know

Our hands weren't meant to hold
