Don’t reread a book if you know the ending

Not many people reread books expecting a new ending.

After all, why would each chapter, each page, each line, all stay the same,

yet the ending shift script?

I have a bad memory, often forgetting the way things end,

blinded by how I want them to.

No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to wrap my head around the endings,

around ours.

I’m not sure why I assumed our ending would be different when you and I remain unchanged.

After all, why would your actions continuously repeat,

yet somehow make you different?
