I went and saw A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Friday night and, I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant about the actors’ ability to convey the meaning behind complex Shakespearean English. However, I was blown away by the actors who, it was clear, fully comprehended what their characters were saying and were, thus, able to convey to the audience their intent. The beautiful stage and costume design were so well put together and truly enhanced the performance. The fairy lights hanging over the stage made the forest scenes seem that much more magical. It is obvious that these actors put so much into their characters and performances and thus brought the production to life.
My favorite moment was the play within a play and my favorite character was Josiah as Egeus.
